Haiti - FLASH : 2,5 deaths by bullet every day in the metropolitan area

The Justice and Peace Episcopal Commission (JILAP) notes that for several weeks, insecurity and tension has been increasing in the metropolitan area. JILAP reports that from June 1 to 18, 2018, 46 people died by bullets (37 in Port-au-Prince, Martissant and Delmas, 4 in Croix-des-Bouquets and 5 in Carrefour). The Episcopal Commission attributes this recrudescence of insecurity to the trivialization of violence and the laxity of government authorities.
