Friday, President Jovenel Moïse inaugurated the Jacmel Professional and Technical Training Center, located in the Lamandou area in the presence of, among others, Senators of South East Joseph Lambert and Dieupie Chérubin, of Deputy of Jacmel, Kétel Jean-Philippe, of Minister of Public Works, Fritz Caillot, of Director General of the National Institute of Vocational Training (INFP), Mrs. Maggy Durcé, Representatives of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the Bank Caribbean Development (BCD).

This Professional School with a capacity of 1,000 learners comes to offer programs in 7 sectors: textile, auto mechanics, mechanical engineering, civil construction, woodworking, hospitality, information and communication technology, divided into 30 trades and the skills will be validated by 4 levels of certification: Certificate of Professional Aptitude (APP) 3-8 months, Certificate of Professional Ability (CAP) 12 months; Professional Aptitude Certificate (BAP) 24 months, or by a Diploma of Technician Cadre (DT / DTS) 36 months.

Let's recall that the reconstruction work of the Center of Vocational Training and Technical of Jacmel, destroyed by the earthquake of January 2010, started in January 2016 and the financing of the construction and equipment was assured jointly by the BCD and the IDB for a total amount of more than US $ 6 million (6,234,588.56)

"Inaugurating a Professional Center of this size is one of the most exciting things in a Head of State mandate. This is a new door that opens up to the future without a doubt, the realization of one of the most beautiful projects for a whole youth," said Moïse.

"I am happy to have participated in the inauguration of the Jacmel Vocational and Technical Training Center, a project launched a few years ago and finally designed to serve young South Easters," stressed Senator Lambert.
