Gunther Widmaier assassinated :

Friday night, the lifeless body of Gunther Widmaier, the son of the Director General of Radio-TéléMétropole Richard Widmaier, was found in Pèlerin. Remember that Gunther Widmaier was kidnapped a few days ago, the kidnappers demanded a large sum of money. The Widmaier family would have paid the ransom demanded by the kidnappers and kept hope of finding their son safe and sound, unfortunately the kidnappers decided otherwise.

Death of businessman Reynold Bonnefil :

It is with sadness that the Canadian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIHC) has learned of the death of Reynold Bonnefil, a businessman experienced and appreciated by his peers. Community members of all ages and backgrounds, too numerous to count, have lost a sincere, trustworthy and selfless friend. Haitians in need have lost an incomparable benefactor.

Election observation mission to Mexico :

Jean Marie Reynaldo Brunet the Minister of the Interior and the members of the Provisional Electoral Council are currently in Mexico, on an observation mission, as part of the presidential, legislative and territorial elections that will take place on Sunday, July 1st.

Graduation of the first class of Clerks :

Friday was held the graduation ceremony of the first class of 40 students Clerks in initial formation. Jean Aly Roudy, Minister of Justice commended the recipients for their courage and dedication to serving the cause of justice. He has also committed to facilitating their integration as quickly as possible into the justice system. This is a historic ceremony since it is the first class of Clerks from the School of Magistracy since its creation in 1987.

Montreal : Consulate Closed

The Consulate General of the Republic of Haiti in Montreal informs the general public and the Haitian community in particular that its offices will be closed on Monday, July 2, 2018, on the occasion of the National Day of Canada. Services will resume as usual, Tuesday, July 3 at 9am.
