A vehicle transporting 11 Haitian illegal on the Dominican territory, was the victim of a serious accident in the town of El Maizal (Valverde province).

A Haitian aged of 25 years died while 10 other passengers were injured. 4 illegal immigrants have managed to flee before the intervention of the rescue. The other 6 Haitian injured were transported to the Regional University Hospital Jose Maria Cabral and Baez in Santiago to receive the care they needed. The wounded could not be identified they have no personal papers with them.

The Brigadier General Abraham Rodriguez, has declared that the Dominican driver who was engaged in this trafficking, was arrested for investigation. The vehicle was seized by agents of the Metropolitan Transport Authority (AMET), based to Mao.
