The Technical Unit of Seismology (UTS) of the Bureau of Mines and Energy (BME) is associated with the Ministry of Environment (MDE) and the Permanent Secretariat for Risk and Disaster Management (SPGRD) to inform that a light earthquake of magnitude 3.8 on the Richter scale was recorded this Thursday, July 12, 2018 at 07h41'37'' pm

The epicenter of the earthquake was located 13.93 km south of Gonaïves and 5 km north of Desdunes, in the Department of Artibonite at a depth of 23 km.

No damage has been reported so far, informs the Directorate of Civil Protection.
