Haiti - Politic : DINEPA multiplies actions to make drinking water accessible

In order to ensure a better drinking water supply for citizens, the National Directorate of Drinking Water and Sanitation (DINEPA), is carrying out a set of works to equip 8 boreholes in the metropolitan area of Port-au-Prince, ie the installation of 13 km of pipeline needed to connect the lift station and the 2,000-cubic meter tank located in the heights of Vivy Mitchell https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-15978-haiti-social-$22-million-to-increase-the-production-of-potable-water.html

DINEPA calls on contractors to meet deadlines for the installation of a 300 mm (12-inch) diameter line from the reservoir to the Frères road, which is expected to be completed by the end of the month of December 2018.

6 of the 8 boreholes are at Croix-des-Bouquets and 2 at Pernier. They must be connected via a tunnel crossing the Rivière-Grise. At the end of the works which will also take into account the distribution network, these 8 drillings will allow a clear improvement in the drinking water supply of the residents, among others those of Vivy Mitchell, Well-Blain, Route of Frères, Gérald Bataille, Pernier, Mais-Gâté and Bellevue.
