Haiti - Politic : Blackout, Government and electricity suppliers accuse each other

Although the EDH said in a statement that the "Black-out" and the rationing of electricity, were due to a scarcity of fuel oil and that the situation will be restored with the arrival of oil Sunday, July 29 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-25106-haiti-news-zapping.html Blackouts persist...

Ignace Saint-Fleur, the Director General of the Office for Monetization of Development Assistance Programs (BMPAD) confirmed that the fuel had been delivered on time in Haiti.

However, at the supplier level, many indicated that they had to shut down engines because they had not been supplied with fuel on time. According to a source close to the operators, Wednesday 1 August at 6:00 pm the boat had still not arrived in Port-au-Prince, a delay that could be due to a payment problem...

Ignace Saint-Fleur, denies this information, persists and signs and says "The cargo was to arrive between July 30 and August 1, it is there, it arrived this August 1 [Wednesday is not Sunday as announced by EDH]". He states that the previous invoice has been paid and that this new delivery is payable within 45 days.

According to Saint-Fleur, the explanation is simple, the electricity suppliers of the EDH had arrived in the last days of their fuel reserve before the delivery of the new shipment "In anticipation of a possible delay in delivery, they have stopped some engines. They anticipated for nothing, because the boat arrived on time."
