Haiti - USA : More than 10,000 Haitians remained in the US after the expiry of their visa 09/08/2018 10:48:08
During the US fiscal year 2017-2018, 10,558 Haitians who obtained a VISA or a residence permit for the United States, never returned to Haiti and remained live illegally in the United States, revealed US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in its annual report released this week. In this report the DHS lists some fifteen countries, some of whose citizens violate US migration laws by illegally staying without authorization in the United States at the end of their residence permit or VISA, totaling more than 256,000 nationals. (excluding Mexico and Canada) only for the 15 countries on this list. For the fiscal year concerned, in any country, the report mentions 628,799 people in illegal situations (with expired visas), a decrease of 1.25% compared to the previous fiscal year.
