Wednesday, the Steering Committee and the Technical Secretariat for the Organization of the Sectoral General States of the Nation (EGSN) met with community leaders from various popular neighborhoods in the metropolitan area.

These leaders of grassroots community organizations exposed various issues faced by their neighborhoods. They mentioned the lack of basic social services, technical and vocational training centers, recreation centers, canal cleaning programs, etc... They also talked about the problems of continuity in the actions of the State and the failure of the judiciary. The phenomenon of gun violence in some neighborhoods due to the presence of gangs was also discussed during this preparatory meeting.

Community leaders advocated the implementation of social programs to combat social exclusion and poverty in marginalized areas and expressed their doubts about the purpose of these States-General, saying that they would like to see the application of documents emerging from this great national dialogue.

In addition to the demands of popular neighborhoods, his preliminary consultation allowed the Committee and the Technical Secretariat to provide information on the progress of the Sectoral General States and the methodological tools used throughout the process.

This preparatory meeting is part of the second phase of the sectoral General Estates of the nation, which consists in raising awareness and mobilizing the various sectors concerned, preparing sectoral notebooks, collecting information on the state of play of the sectors, make a summary of the sectoral public policy documents.
