The Consulate of Chile in Port-au-Prince reminds the general public that since July 2, 2018, the Chilean Government has established a family reunification visa for Haitian citizens living legally in Chile https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-24839-haiti-flash-visa-available-for-family-reunification-in-chile.html

The application process starts on Chilean soil, where the Haitian parent (spouse) or a Haitian partner living under a Chilean Civil Union Agreement, having a legal status in Chile (temporary or permanent residence ), must write a letter requesting family reunification. This letter must be certified in front of a notary.

Subsequently, the applicant in Chile once his letter has been received in Haiti, should contact the office of the International Organization for Migration (IOM in Haiti) to follow up and NOT BY THE CHILE CONSULATE at Port-au-Prince.

Remember that in the context of family reunification, the quota for Haiti has been set at 10,000 visas each year. For a period of 10 months, this visa is renewable once and then allows to apply for permanent residence in Chile.
