Michel-Ange Louis-Jeune, the spokesman of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) confirmed that on the night from Monday 15 to Tuesday, October 16, around 2:00 am, the Police Commissioner of Pétion-ville Gospel Monelus, was shot and wounded during a patrol at Delmas 95.

The incident occurred while he was getting out of his vehicle, accompanied by agents from the Central Directorate of the Administrative Police to remove barricades erected on public roads.

It was at this time that unidentified individuals opened fire on the patrol vehicle before fleeing, injuring him in the right arm.

The Commissioner was rushed to the hospital where he underwent a minor surgery to extract the bullet. He is doing well and has returned home to rest.

No one has been arrested for the moment said Michel-Ange Gédéon, the Director General of the PNH.
