Michel-Ange Gédéon, the Director General of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) informs the general public and businesses in particular that"[...] individuals posing as the DG of the PNH, claim here and there money, giving account numbers for depositing money or ransom citizens on social networks (Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter).

The Director General Michel-Ange Gédéon, informs that he has given no mandate to anyone, both in Haiti and abroad, to address these requests in his name or on behalf of the PNH to individuals residing in Haiti or abroad."

Gédéon specifies that an investigation is opened on this affair of fraud at the Central Directorate of the Judicial Police (DCPJ). Some of these crooks are already identified and he invites the victims of these scams to file a complaint to the justice and the DCPJ for the legal consequences.
