Thursday, as part of the first qualifying phase of the U-20 Confederation of North America, Central America and the Caribbean (CONCACAF) for the FIFA World Cup ™, Poland 2019 (May 2019), our Grenadiers faced at 11:30 am, St. Lucia, for their first qualifying match of pool at the sports complex "IMG Academy Bradenton" (Florida).

Facing St. Lucia, our U-20 Grenadiers in the Group E, did not impress, although appearing technically superior, they faced a more disciplined and solid Saint Lucia team in defense. If in the first period Mc Jeffrey Pierre opens the score [1-0] in favor of Haiti, our Grenadiers were unable to concretize the opportunities which presented themselves, winning the victory on a score at least unchanged [1-0] and the 3 points of the match and this despite the changes of players brought during the game.

Format of the competition :

In the first round, each team will face their opponents once, according to a championship formula. The winners of each of the six groups will advance to the second round, where they will be divided into two groups of three. At the end of this new mini-championship, the first two of each group will validate their ticket for the next U-20 World Cup. The winners of each group will play the final of the tournament.
