Haiti - NOTICE : National competition recruitment for 70 students magistrates

Jean Roody Aly, the Minister of Justice informs those interested, of the launch of a national competition through the jurisdictions of the 5 Courts of Appeal of the Republic (Port-au-Prince, Cap-Haitien, Hinche, Gonaives, Cayes ) for the recruitment of a new class of 70 students magistrates as part of a 16-month initial training course to be organized by the School of Magistracy (EMA).

The purpose of this initial training is to enable the magistrates to become polyvalent magistrates, able to exercise normal judicial functions.

Requirements :

  • To be Haitian;

  • Hold a law degree or equivalent diploma approved by the Rectorate of the State University of Haiti;

  • Be 23 to 50 years old;

  • Enjoy his civil and political rights;

  • Have never been sentenced to an afflictive and disgraceful punishment;

  • Be in good physical and mental health.

Schedule of this training :

  • Reception of applications to the Registry of Courts of Appeal, with the exception of Port-au-Prince where registrations are received directly at EMA located at Angle Route de Frères and Blvd. October 15, from December 17, 2018 to February 20, 2019;

  • Publication of the list of candidates eligible to take part in the competition (March 2019);

  • First phase of the competition (written test March 2019);

  • Publication of the results of the written test (end of March 2019);

  • Second phase of the competition (oral test April 2019);

  • Publication of the candidates admitted to the EMA (end of April 2019);

  • Meeting with the candidates admitted on the modalities (determined by the Director of the EMA) concerning the course of this training (May 2019).
