Haiti - Politic : Towards the end of fuel scarcity in gas stations

For almost a few days, mainly in the metropolitan area, motorists and other consumers, note a certain scarcity of fuels, especially in the gas stations, National and Total, without it being possible to speak of a shortage at the national level.

David Turnier, President of the National Association of Petroleum Distributors says that the situation is serious, pointing out that fuel distributors have no leverage to influence the purchase of petroleum products, he urges the Monetary Office of Public Aid for Development (BMPAD) responsible for procurement, to take all the necessary measures to put an end to these recurring shortages.

He explains that the distributors were surprised by this partial breach at the end of December 2018 while the payments were made on behalf of the oil companies Total, Ti Mazout, Dynasa, Capital, Sol and DNC, lamenting a partial supply...

For his part Fils-Aimé Ignace Saint-Fleur, Director General of BMPAD, explains that this situation was caused by an overconsumption of fuel during the holiday season and ensures that diesel and gasoline will be available again at all gas stations on Monday and BMPAD has taken all steps to prevent this situation from happening again...
