After a meeting earlier this week on the budget cuts envisaged in the 2018-2019 budget https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-27053-haiti-education-important-meeting-around-budget-cuts.html in the investment budget of the Ministry of Education, a second meeting which brought together, among others, Jackson Pléteau, the Minister's Chief of Staff, his Coordinator Jacques Yvon Pierre and his deputy Harold Narcisse, as well as coordinators of the Directorate General and senior officials of the Directorate of Administrative Affairs, was held Thursday, this time around the operating budget of the Ministry.

The main purpose was to share information on the budgetary restrictions envisaged by the Government through the Ministry of Finance and the measures to be adopted to try to comply with them.

How to apply budgetary restrictions and respect the various commitments of the Ministry to teachers as well as the recent appointments that must be made to emerge from the state budget ? Was one of the main issues discussed during this meeting.

How to achieve better management of the operating budget and better share information on the operations carried out, are two other issues that have also been the subject of intense discussions.

At the end of the exchanges, a set of provisions were adopted in order to reach the set objectives. A follow-up committee has been set up and must present its report within one week for the follow-up.
