Haiti - DRC : Ne Muanda Nsemi, on the run for 2 years, asks for political asylum in Haiti !

Former National Deputy Ne Muanda Nsemi, leader of a politico-religious secessionist group in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), wanted and on the run for 2 years following his spectacular escape from Makala prison with 4,000 other detainees , via the office of his political party "Bundu Dia Mayala" (BDM) made a request for asylum to the Goodwill Ambassador in Africa and Honorary Consul General of the Republic of Haiti in Kinshasa, because of the ancestral links between two countries.

"[...] I solicitate that His Excellency the Traveling Ambassador to Africa and Honorary Consul General of the Republic of Haiti in the DRC, like his father in the 1960s, give his support so that Ne Muanda Nsemi who has always considered this country as a second Kongo territory, can accommodate him to the Consulate to ensure its safety after the legal troubles that would weigh on him [...]"...

However, it could be a temporary political asylum to ensure the security of Ne Muanda Nsemiqui which wishes to respond to the justice of his country since it is written later in his request "[...] during my meeting with the President of CNSA [National Council of Follow-up of the Political Agreement] on this file, the latter advised me to seek asylum in a consulate or an embassy in favor of the Honorable Ne Mwanda Nsemi hence the president of the CNSA will take him personally to the public prosecutor near the court of cassation to be heard [...]"

Recall that Ne Muanda Nsemi was imprisoned in Makala Prison, accused of attacking State security, insulting the Head of State and using human shields during his arrest in March 2017 after three weeks of violent clashes between his followers and the police in the district of Ma Campagne in Kinshasa.
