Since May 2019, the Chilean Government has begun a new and final phase of migrant control aimed at encouraging all foreigners who are not yet in order to regularize their situation before 22 July 2019, after which the migration authorities announce that they will resort to measures of forced expulsion from the Chilean territory of all persons who are not in good standing.

Information confirmed by Rodrigo Ubilla, the Minister of the Interior, who affirms that he will strictly apply the deportation measure to all migrants in irregular migratory situation on Chilean soil.

According to Alvaro Bellolio, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, nearly 16,000 people registered in the regularization plan, mostly Haitians, are under threat of the next expulsions.

Note that the Haitians concerned, after knowing how to pay the fees to the Embassy of Haiti, have been desperate for months, a certificate of good life and morals (criminal record) issued by the Central Directorate of the Judicial Police DCPJ to Port au Prince. In the absence of this document our compatriots are unable to regularize their situation.
