This disturbance is expected to spread West / Northwest and cross the north-central Caribbean Sea over the next few days. This could cause heavy rains and possibly floods in parts of the Caribbean, including Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic and Haiti. It is still too early to determine the possible impacts on Haiti.

At the passage of this active tropical wave planned until Tuesday, Guadeloupe has been placed on Orange alert by Météo France for heavy rain and thunderstorms.

However, the US National Hurricane Center says there is little chance, or 20%, for this phenomenon to become a tropical hurricane in the next five days, as high winds become less and less favorable.

In Haiti, the weather will be characterized by not very sunny weather for the day of Monday, July 29, 2019 with a probability of 20% of rain. Moreover for the days of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, there will be up to 60% probability of rain with winds which will blow north-northwest with a speed of 12 km/h. The humidity is estimated at 62% and the maximum temperature will be 35 degrees Celsius (95 Fahrenheit).
