Haiti - Justice : Former Gang Leader Arnel Joseph has left the hospital

Wednesday in Port-au-Prince, former Gang Leader Gang Arnel Joseph obtained his authorization to leave the hospital where he was treated since his arrest on July 22 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-28309-haiti-flash-the-dangerous-gang-leader-arnel-finally-captured-by-the-pnh.html and is now in the hands of investigators of the Central Directorate of Judicial Police (DCPJ) and those of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) who continue their interrogations.

The US DEA investigator is looking into Arnel's implications for drug trafficking and the names of his accomplices.

According to Sen. Jean Renel Sénatus, following a hearing Wednesday by Michel-Ange Gédéon, the Director General of the National Police of Haiti before the Justice and Security Committee of the Senate, Gédéon would told him that Arnel had recognized his relations with Senator Gracia Delva in connection with the kidnapping of three people in March 2019 during an interrogation last Monday.

For his part, Pierre Espérance Executive Director of the National Network for the Defense of Human Rights (RNDDH) on the airwaves of the capital assured "It is clear that Arnel collaborates..."

According to Esperance, Arnel reportedly told the DCPJ about the complicity of members of the executive, the parliament and the private business sector and to the DEA investigators, Arnel reportedly talking about a Southern Senator involved in the drug trafficking. Esperance did not say who it was among the 3 senators of the South : Pierre François Sildor or Jean Marie Junior Salomon or Hervé Fourcand ? Concluding "Let the DEA continue the investigation..."

It should be noted that these statements must be take with caution, they are neither confirmed nor denied by the police authorities, who remain silent on what Arnel admitted during the interrogations, not wanting to interfere with ongoing investigations and cause the escape of his accomplices.
