Haiti - Security : Senior executive of national education of Gonâve shot down

In a note, the Ministry of National Education said he learned "with great sadness the tragic death of his chief inspector of La Gonâve, Jones Lagrandeur", shot Wednesday, August 7 by unidentified bandits at the bottom of the John Brown Avenue (Lalue), during a robbery.

The Ministry "deplores and condemns the assassination of one of its senior executives who spent 35 years of his life in the service of education in the public sector"

"Dynamic, dedicated, respectful of instructions, with a sense of responsibility and leadership, Lagrandeur is one of those public servants who work for the advancement of the education sector.

This native of Pointe à Raquette will leave a big void in the educational community of La Gonâve and is a great loss for the ministry.

The Ministry hopes that the culprits will be identified and punished in accordance with the law.

The Ministry expresses its sincere sympathies to his grieving family, all his family and friends as well as his colleagues from the Gonâve School District and the West Education Department."
