Haiti - Social : Graduation of 76 marginalized women

Friday in Pétion-ville as part of a program of social reintegration of marginalized women and former sex workers, during a graduation ceremony, in the presence of Senator Dieudonne Luma Étienne (North), the former First Lady of Haiti Saint-Rémy Martelly Sofia, representatives of the Association "Fanm Kore Fanm" (AFKF) and several personalities, 76 women of all ages, mostly former sex workers, after two vocational training curated successfully, have graduated from cosmetology, sewing, baking and cooking among others.

In her speech, Senator Étienne congratulated the recipients saying "the acquisition of this new knowledge is not only a formidable weapon in the fight they will have to carry out daily to face with dignity the challenges of life, but also that for the emancipation of the Haitian woman."

For her part, Sofia Martelly, godmother of this first Promotion, insisted on the social inclusion of Haitian women and affirmed to have committed herself alongside the AFKF Association to accompany graduates in the process of their empowerment.

Recall that this Reintegration Program was initiated by the "Fanm Kore Fanmi" Professional Center in partnership "Operation Underground Railroad".
