Matteo Bruni, the Director of the Press Office of the Holy See, announced that the Holy Father had met President of Lamborghini on the afternoon of Friday, 13 September, regarding the charity auction of the "Huracan Lamborghini" a white coupe car offered to Pope Francis on November 15, 2017 by "Automobili Lamborghini".

Recall that this car blessed and signed by the hand of Pope Francis, was auctioned at Sotheby's on May 12, 2018 for 809,375 euros.

Matteo Bruni clarified that during this meeting, the Holy Father received a check of the proceeds of the sale and announced that about 200,000 euros of this sum, will be used to rebuild the seminary and a school for children in Haiti destroyed during the earthquake of 2010.

Pope Francis quoted an excerpt from the Gospel of Matthew (chapter 25) saying that this gesture of charity, which directly reaches the poorest "corresponds to the words of the passage of the Gospel".
