Haiti - FLASH : Discovery of a large stock of fuels for the black market

Saturday afternoon in Delmas 31, the National Police of Haiti (PNH) of concert with the Procuratorate of Port-au-Prince, made a nice dragnet by arresting at least a dozen individuals who took advantage of the scarcity fuel on the local market, to sell the precious fuel at a golden price.

These individuals were placed in police custody in a Delmas police station while waiting to be brought before a judge on Monday, September 16, to respond to allegations of, inter alia, illegal speculation and the illegal storage and trading of petroleum products under article 1 of the law of December 20, 1946 on the black market or the illegal speculation https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-28666-haiti-justice-black-market-illegal-speculation-up-to-100-thousand-gourdes-fine.html

Fifty barrels of fuel stored in a garage and several tanker trucks filled with fuel were seized and sealed, putting an end to the activities of a band that was visibly very well organized and engaged in this large-scale trade. PNH officers were deployed to the site to protect the fuel.
