Schools closed since 1 month

Monday, most schools in the capital and major cities of the country remained closed. Since the start of the school year (September 9th) some schools in the metropolitan area have been able to open a few days, others have not opened their doors for 1 month because of socio-political unrest, violence and absence security for students and teachers.

6 Haitian boat people intercepted off Florida

On Saturday, October 5, the US Coast Guard intercepted a small boat in South-East Florida, 25 km from the coast, carrying 14 illegal migrants, including 6 Haitians. All migrants were driven to Miami Beach.
