The IACHR urges the Haitian State

At its 173rd regular session of the UN, the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) expressed its concern at the worsening of violence in the context of the political crisis in Haiti. IACHR urges the [Haitian] State to take the necessary measures to guarantee the right to freedom of peaceful assembly [...] Likewise, the Commission urges all Haitian political forces to return to the peaceful means of political consultation and to preserve the democratic institutions of the country.

Travel of nearly 600 years in the past

Haiti at the 58th Venice Biennale

For the second time, Haiti has participated in the Venice Biennale since May 11, around the theme: "May you live in interesting times." The national pavilion of Haiti is installed in the prestigious local of the Circle of the officers of the Italian Navy in Venice. The Haitian artist, Jean Ulrich Désert, a figure of the Caribbean diaspora born in Port-au-Prince during Papa Doc's regime, represents Haiti during the seven months of this 58th Biennale, which ends on November 24th.
