This week, Pierre Josué Agénor Cadet, acting Minister of the Interior and Territorial Communities, in the presence of the new Director General of the Ministry Amos Zéphirin https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-28855-haiti-flash-jovenel-moise-replaces-5-departmental-delegates-and-5-directors-general.html held an important working meeting with about thirty representatives of the executive boards of the Associations of the Assemblies of the Communal Sections (ASEC) of the West department.

This meeting allowed to review the main challenges facing the ASECs in the exercise of their function and to address in a concrete way the challenges related to the conjuncture, punctuated by political obstacles and various socio-economic claims at the level of the departments and communal sections.

At the end of this meeting, the acting Minister Cadet gave the guarantee that all the funds regularly allocated to the Ministry for the current year, will be used in compliance with the standards, in an efficient and fair way in order to address issues quickly. In addition, special efforts will be made, in synergy with local elected officials, to provide local populations with the necessary support in the search for social appeasement.

In this sense, he announced the establishment of a technical unit to assist the ASEC in the process of clearing and sanitation of communal sections. Likewise, all 10 Associations of Municipal Assembly Assemblies will benefit from a quota of school kits and financial support to provide specific support to the most vulnerable groups at the communal section level, especially for the resumption of school activities.

Also, through other government programs, food kits will be sent, through local authorities, to local populations. Finally, internally, the files of all the regular contratuals and the session fees of ASEC will be regularized within a short time.
