Haiti - Crisis : Message from the Secretary General of the Council of Ministers

While for almost two months the socio-political instability paralyzes the country, sows mourning in our families and every day destroys our fragile economy, Renald Lubérice, the Secretary General of the Council of Ministers to deliver a message to the population :

Message from Renald Lubérice :

"In the name of democratic values, citizens who want to demonstrate peacefully must be able to do so with peace of mind.

Those who do not want to demonstrate but to go about their business must be able to do it without being terrorized by those who pompously claim democracy.

Those who are dissatisfied with the actions of the President of the Republic and who legitimately wish to replace him now or in 2022 can only do so through free, transparent and democratic elections. Violence, terror and fear can not be used and accepted as a means to take power outside the Constitution and democratic norms.

No, armed gangs are not allies of the people who demand better living conditions, they are just criminals who should have been in prison. Those who use them for political or economic purposes are called accomplices.

No politicians who call for violence to come to power are not democrats. They are putschists who can not afford their actions.

No, citizens who refuse opinions contrary to theirs are not democrats. If they had the power they would have gagged all those who do not think like them. Intolerance is not democracy, it is political stupidity that leads to totalitarianism."
