The legal SAGA between the Government and the electricity generating company Société Générale d'Energie SA (SOGENER) continues with a new episode in which the Haitian State complains and requires the setting in motion of the public action against the SOGENER and several personalities related to this affair...

The Government acting through the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Ministry of Public Works, the Directorate General of Taxes and private firms of lawyers engaged by the State https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-29135-haiti-energy-the-state-hires-several-cabinets-of-lawyers-to-defend-its-interests.html sent a correspondence dated November 8, 2019 to the Government Commissioner a.i at the Court of First Instance of Port-au-Prince, Me Jacques Lafontant, to file a complaint with the civil party of the Haitian State against SOGENER, represented by the President of its Board of Directors.

The complaint also concerns the following persons : "Réginald Vorbe Fils, Jean-Marie Vorbe, Dimitri Vorbe, Roger Lefèvre, Elizabeth Débrosse, Frantz Vérella, Serge Raphaël, Daniel Dorsainvil and other accomplices to identify"

In addition, the Government Commissioner is also asked to "take public action against these legal and natural persons for the purposes of the law of 9 May 2014 on the prevention and punishment of corruption for corruption offenses by overcharging, forgery, use and beneficiaries of forgery, coupled with criminal maneuvers for enrichment to the detriment of the State, in the framework of the execution of a contract binding the State and the Electricity of Haiti (EDH ) to SOGENER."

Recall that in the previous episode SOGENER lawyer Martine Chevalier sent a summons to BRH, EDH, the Ministry of Public Works, the Ministry of Finance and the DGI, ordering to pay the sum of a little more than 202 million US dollars in unpaid electric power bills produced and sold by Sogener from 2012 to 2019 to the edh and the Haitian State https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-29202-haiti-saga-the-sogener-sends-a-summons-to-the-state.html
