The US Embassy in Haiti on alert

The US Embassy in Port-au-Prince alerts US citizens in Haiti that an individual has threatened his permises and the US School Union (Canapé Vert) on a local radio station. As a result, the Embassy announces the strengthening of security in front of the Union School, in front of its premises and in front of the brewery La Couronne also targeted in the threats and invites the American nationals to the prudence.

On Monday as part of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, Ralph Youri Chevry Mayor of Port-au-Prince said, "Violence against women is not inevitable. We must and we can prevent it and eliminate it. All of us have an important role to play. On this day, the City of Port-au-Prince salutes the main national and international organizations involved in this crucial struggle in the formation of this new society based on total respect for women."
