Haiti - Diaspora : Commemorative activities of 10th anniversary of the earthquake

As part of the commemoration of the 10th anniversary of the earthquake that struck Haiti on January 12, 2010, the Embassy of Haiti in Washington DC invites the Haitian community and the friends of Haiti Sunday January 12, 2020, to two activities :

Sunday January 12 :

4:15 p.m.: Candlelight vigil at the Sacre Hearth Church

Located at 3211 Sacre Hearth Way Washington, D.C. 20010

6:00 p.m.: Evening of remembrance at the Embassy of Haiti

Located at 2311 Massachusetts Ave, NW, Washington, D.C.

Recall that on January 12, 2010, at 4:53 pm an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.2 on the Richter scale plunged Haiti into hell... 35 seconds later... the capital of Port-au-Prince was more than 75% destroyed. It is estimated today between 250,000 and 300,000 the number of dead and as many injured.

These two events are sponsored by the Embassy of Haiti in Washington DC, HRA and IOM, in partnership with Partners in Health, She_Build Global Initiative, FIEFFE 4 Haiti Foundation, Haitian Ladies Network, Asociation of Haitian Professionals (AHP), United Front (UF) and DMV Haiitans, Komite Ayiti.
