The project to reduce the vulnerability of the populations of the Carrefour / Léogâne watershed, aims to increase the use of clean energy for cooking while improving the quality of wooded areas and mangroves. This project, carried out in partnership with the international NGO Caritas Switzerland, is funded by the European Union to the tune of 1 million euros from the 10th European Development Fund.

More specifically, this project aims to set up a workshop for the production of stoves and "pellets" (a small cylindrical stick from the compaction of sawmill residues, sawdust and shavings) in a technical training center.

The 39-month project targets more than 7,000 households in low-income urban areas of Carrefour and Léogâne.
