Haiti - COVID-19 : Haiti the worst epidemiological scenario in CARICOM countries

While several countries of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) are already beginning the gradual reopening of their economies, Haiti presents the worst epidemiological scenario among the Caricom member states with 2,640 confirmed cases of Covid-19, i.e. 67% of the total of all cases confirmed in the 15 member countries.

Number of confirmed cases by CARICOM country, from the begenning :

Antigua and Barbuda: 26 cases

Bahamas: 102 cases

Barbados: 92 cases

Belize: 18 cases

Dominica: 18 cases

Grenada: 23 cases

Guyana: 153 cases

Haiti 2,640 cases (read note)

Jamaica: 591 cases

Montserrat: 11 cases

Saint Kitts and Nevis: 5 cases

Saint Lucia: 19 cases

Saint Vincent and the Grenadines: 26 cases

Suriname: 82 cases

Trinidad and Tobago: 117cases

Total cases in Caricom countries: 3,933 cases

Total excluding Haiti: 1,293 cases

According to a notice from the Ministry of Health "[...] delays in receiving data are the cause of the non-publication today of updated information on the situation [...]. The Ministry apologizes and specifies that the technicians of the Directorate of Epidemiology of Laboratories and Research are doing everything possible for the publication of this information this Friday."
