According to the Ministry of Public Health, 39 new cases of Covid-19 were confirmed in Haiti (the day before : +64), for a total of 6,333 cases throughout the national territory (40.90% women and 59.10% men) since the first case (March 19, 2020 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-30319-haiti-health-origin-of-the-first-2-cases-of-covid-19-in-haiti.html ).

Imported cases : 99 cases (unchanged) previous (+42 over 4 days)

Before the reopening of airports (July 1, 2020) the number of cases imported into Haiti was stable (57). Since the border reopened, it has increased to 99 (+42 cases), an increase of 73%. The Ministry of Health explains that the increase of 42 cases imported from Covid-19, recorded between July 1 and 4 would be attributable to 86% (36 cases) to cases from the Dominican Republic and 14% (6 cases) in from the United States.

An explanation which is undoubtedly "politically correct" but which statistically is much less and which leaves the following question unanswered : How to explain that between March 16 (closing of the borders) and mid-June 2020 more than 57,000 Haitians (on the border points checked) returned to Haiti voluntarily from the Dominican Republic https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-31118-haiti-dr-more-than-17-000-haitians-voluntarily-returned-to-the-country-in-2-weeks.html and that no case of imported Covid-19 has been declared...?

Community cases (since March 19) : 6,234 cases

Death : (unchanged). National total 113 deaths.

Healings : 1,549 people (+141), the day before (+122)

Active cases : (less death and recovery) 4,671 cases (-102), the day before (-61)

Number of suspected cases investigated since March 19 : 13,638 cases (+148 in 24 hours), the day before (+443)
