Haiti - FLASH : Haiti inaugurates its 3rd international airport
Friday Jovenel Moïse accompanied by his wife Martine and Nader Joaséus the Minister of Public Works proceeded to the inauguration of the new international airport of Jérémie (Dept. Grand'Anse), with a new runway of 1,200 m long by 25 m wide, built in compliance with the standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization.
All the works were carried out using State equipment and materials, said the Minister, who stressed that they had cost the Treasury less than a million dollars.
Recall that the completion of this 3rd international airport in Haiti was a campaign promise by President Moïse.
Jérémie’s airport, which will start operating this Saturday, July 11, therefore becomes the 3rd international airport in Haiti after Hugo Chavez airport in Cap-Haïtien and Toussaint Louverture in Port-au-Prince. Note that Haiti also has three other regional airports in Jacmel (South-East), Les Cayes (South) and Port de Paix (North-West).
