Haiti - UN : New case of sexual exploitation by MINUSTAH in the country

In the report to be produced by the United Nations Integrated Office in Haiti (BINUH) for the UN Secretary General every 120 days, on the situation in Haiti and on the implementation of the BINUH mandate, the Office mentions new cases of sexual exploitation in relation to the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti (MINUSTAH).

Extract from the report (end of Sep 2020) :

Regarding sexual exploitation, it is indicated that since the last report "[...] BINUH has received one new allegation of sexual exploitation and abuse relating to the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti period. The Mission also received allegations against a new perpetrator in a case reported in 2009. Efforts continued to support those and other victims of sexual exploitation and abuse, as well as any children born as a result of such misconduct. The Office of the Ombudsperson stands ready to play a role in reporting cases, including by contacting the national human rights institution of the country of origin of alleged perpetrators. At the same time, efforts to prevent sexual exploitation and abuse continued, including through the recruitment of a system-wide coordinator of the task force on sexual exploitation and abuse, as well as through online training-of-trainers sessions for implementing partners on prevention"
