Haiti - FLASH : The PNH in action, 8 bandits killed, arrests, seizures of weapons of war and ammunition...

Commissioner Michel-Ange Louis-Jeune, spokesperson for the Haitian National Police (PNH), informed that during operations carried out over the past 10 days, 8 members of armed gangs had been killed during clashes with the police (in Nippes and Artibonite) and more than 10 firearms including 7 assault rifles as well as more than 1,200 ammunition of various calibers had been seized

In addition, 3 pistols and an assault rifle were seized during the night of October 24 to 25, during field operations by agents of specialized units of the PNH carried out under the supervision of the Ministry of the Interior Audain Fils Bernadel https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-32124-haiti-flash-operation-punch-in-port-au-prince.html

Minors in possession of a fake pistol were also apprehended in Pétion ville, on the night of October 25 at around 1:00 a.m.

Present on the scene of operations, Minister Bernadel called on the population not to tolerate in their neighborhood any den of bandits, or places of juvenile delinquency and to denounce them to the local, judicial and police authorities.

Note that on Monday, Prime Minister Joseph Jouthe, in his capacity as President of the Superior Council of the National Police of Haiti (CSPN), visited Rameau Normil the Director General ai of the PNH at the Central Directorate of the Judicial Police (DCPJ).

This visit was part of the strengthening of the operational capacities both financially and logistically of the police institution in order to combat acts of banditry, notably cases of kidnapping for ransom across the country.
