Seizure of firearms and ammunition

Tuesday, January 26, customs agents of Saint-Marc (Dept. Artibonite) discovered concealed in a vehicle during customs clearance, a large quantity of ammunition, some of a caliber intended for the weapons of war which were seized.

265 Mw more for the metropolitan area

"The metropolitan area has a capacity of 323 Mw in electrical substation. After the execution of the project to strengthen the network financed by a loan from Taiwan, we will have 588 Mw. Construction work on the substations of St Christophe (Cabaret) and Cité Soleil are progressing," informs the EDH.

Joseph Lambert discusses Constitution with Canadian Ambassador

Senator Joseph Lambert, President of the Senate and Senator Kédlaire Augustin vice-president of the office, received the Ambassador of Canada accredited to Haiti Stuart Savage. Respect for the Constitution and the laws of the Republic was discussed; the return to constitutional order through elections (apart from a non-sworn CEP); the need for a political agreement for the rejection of chaos and for peaceful governance; and the role of the Senate in mediating between the protagonists.

Academic and scientific cooperation with Spain

Saintil Louis Marie, Ambassador of the Republic of Haiti to the Kingdom of Spain, received the Secretary of State for Universities, Luis Cerdán Ortiz-Quintana, on issues related to academic and scientific cooperation between Haiti and Spain. This included support for higher education institutions; the strengthening of teacher/student mobility programs; the development of a Framework Agreement and the involvement of the academic world in the process of political and economic reforms in Haiti.

The BRH encourages local production

Wednesday January 27, 2021, in order to encourage local production, the Bank of the Republic of Haiti (BRH) showcased Haitian stylists and designers and artisans through a fair that takes place at the Convention and Documentation Center of the BRH around the theme "Rediscovering our identity through fashion".
