Haiti - FLASH : Chancellor Joseph affirms on France 24 that calm has returned to Haiti (Video)

On Wednesday February 10, 2012, Claude Joseph the Minister of Foreign Affairs was the guest of Marc Perelman on France 24.

During this interview, Chancellor Joseph said that calm had returned and the situation was under control in Haiti after the incidents of recent days.

He considered that the opposition's calling into question of the term of office of the President was a political maneuver and denounced an attempted coup and even an assassination against President Jovenel Moïse. He accuses a judge of the Court of Cassation of being behind this attempt, adding that solid evidence exists on his involvement and is the subject of a judicial investigation.

He denied any dictatorial drift by the President and any intention on his part to modify the Constitution in order to be able to run again.
