iciHaiti - Politic : After about 178 years as a communal section, Dichiti becomes a commune

On Saturday February 27, President Jovenel Moïse went to the department of Grand’Anse, more precisely to Dichiti, to talk about the various works to be carried out and to listen to the demands of the population.

Taking advantage of his trip, the Head of State to honor one of his campaign promises while awaiting the official release of the decree, announced "After approximately 178 years that it was a section under the commune of Pestel, Dichiti now passes to the rank of commune , a way of allowing people residing at the entrance to the department of Grand'Anse to benefit from all the State services that today accompany its rank."

Following this announcement, President Moïse instructed all the parties concerned to play their role in the establishment of this new commune, from the delimitation to the placement of all the offices and services that the population will need to function.

As is the case in many communes in the country, Moïse urged the population to start working together to find land for the construction of the Dichiti power plant, which will allow them to benefit from electricity 24 hours a day.
