As part of strengthening of the women's leadership, the Office of Gender Issues (BQG) of the Minustah, contributes to the promotion of the equality of opportunity and the access of women at all levels of decision-making and their participation in the good governance.

Thus, the Canadian Parliamentary Centre (CPC) and the BQG of the Minustah have launched a joint program of training and coaching for a new leadership of Haitian women in politics. It covers the training of 25 coaches, including 7 men and 18 women from all regions and of all political tendencies. 11 participants were candidates for deputies.

Furthermore, it is necessary to add the financial and technical support of these two organizations to the participation of women candidates in the two rounds of parliamentary elections in 2010. Four of the six haitian parliamentarians elected have benefited of this support, particularly in terms of political leadership. A program initiated for them by the by the Office of Gender Issues and the Canadian Parliamentary Centre.
