Haiti - Economy : The DGI collects more than 50 billion, a record in 97 years

For the first time since its creation 97 years ago (June 6, 1924) the Directorate General of Taxes (DGI) has crossed the historic bar of 50 billion Gourdes collected, with a revenue of 57 billion and 337 million Gourdes for fiscal year 2020-2021, exceeding forecasts by more than 237 million and by 17 billion the fiscal year 2019-2020.

At the threshold of the new fiscal year 2021-2022, Jean Emmanuel Casséus the Director General of the DGI in a note "presents his sincere thanks to all the taxpayers who made every effort to fulfill their tax obligations during the fiscal year elapsed."

It takes the opportunity to reiterate to them its constant concern to offer them a quality and local service and urges all those who still have debts towards the tax authorities to fulfill their civic obligations, in order to endow the country with adequate financial resources.
