Haiti - NOTICE : The Embassy of Haiti in Canada closed for 14 days

The Embassy of Haiti in Ottawa (Canada) is informing the general public and the Haitian community in particular that a person who attended the Mission has tested positive for Covid, according to the results of tests carried out on Monday, October 4, 2021.

The infected person was present at the Embassy during the week of Monday, September 27 to Friday, October 1, 2021. To this end, according to the public health measures of Canada and the standards decreed by the Haitian Chancellery to the diplomatic missions and consular posts, the Embassy notified all people who had frequented its premises during the period from September 27 to Wednesday October 6, 2021, urging them to quarantine and be tested.

As required by the protocol, the premises of the Embassy of Haiti in Canada will be closed for 14 days from Wednesday October 6, 2021. Then the premises will be disinfected before the resumption of services on Thursday October 21, 2021.

The Embassy takes this opportunity to recall the importance of the measures to be adopted to protect themselves, their loved ones and their community :

  • Get vaccinated;

  • Wear a mask in public places;

  • Wash your hands frequently;

  • Refrain from frequenting public places if you are sick or have symptoms of Covid-19.
