Haiti - NOTICE : The Municipal Administration of Cap-Haitien, take charge of public markets

The Municipal Administration of Cap-Haitien informs all citizens of the municipality, and mainly merchants selling in public markets, that the Municipal Council has decided to take charge of public markets for better management and to keep the markets clean.

We all agree that the markets produce a lot of waste and that merchants do not pay a Gourde neither for the place they use in the market nor for the collection of the waste they produce every day. At the start of the fiscal year, the Town Hall will take over to start the Cluny Market as part of its plan to reorganize the public market.

From this publication, the Town Hall will inform people selling both inside and outside the market from 9th Street to 11th Street of the new decision of the Town Hall within the framework of the reorganization of the market.

  • Each merchant will have to pay a membership fee for the space he uses;

  • Each merchant will have a Municipal Trade Card (CCM) to identify him as a merchant which is registered in the town hall database;

  • Each merchant will have to pay a subscription each month to help keep the market clean.
