Fuel Black market 3 arrests

Sunday, October 17, as part of a police operation in the Konasa area in the city of Cap-Haitien, the police seized 9 drums of gasoline which were to be sold on the black market at a cost of 750 gourdes per gallon. Police arrested in the house where the fuel was located 3 individuals identified as Estimés Milfort (26), Estimés Djoulito (20) and Renard Roudelin (17). An investigation is already underway and the police are looking for a certain Wanito and a certain Mary who are said to be the owner of these drums of fuel.

Two new ordained priests

Sunday October 17, 2021 in the Parish Church of Saint Gérard, (Carrefour feuille) Deacons Jokébed Léonard and Jonas Séide of the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer were ordained priests by the Archbishop Emeritus of Cap Haitien, Mgr Louis Kébreau. The first solemn mass of Jokébed Léonard will take place on Sunday, October 24, 2021, in the parish Church of Saint-Gérard and Jonas Séide will make his first solemn mass on Sunday, October 31, 2021, in the parish of Saint Jérôme in Petite Rivière de Artibonite.

Gangs : Lamothe wants the USA to equip the PNH

On Monday, October 18, 2021, the former Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe in an interview on CNN, said he hoped that the Biden Administration would help the Haitian National Police with equipment in order to allow it to face the armed gangs that rule the law in the country.

CEP : 100% of sectors reject PM's invitation

The Protestant Federation of Haiti (FPH), which had not yet decided on the response to be given to the Prime Minister's invitation to send a list of 3 names in which the representative of the reformed worship sector will be chosen for sitting on the new Provisional Electoral Council (CEP), finally decided like the 8 other sectors to decline this invitation "[...] The FPH is under a civic and moral obligation to inform you that it cannot respond favorably to your invitation.
