USA meets representatives of Montana Group

On Monday Chargé d'Affaires Merten and Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs Brian Nichols met with representatives of the Montana Group in Haiti. Together they urged them to engage in serious discussions with Prime Minister Ariel Henry and other key stakeholders on a unified Haiti-led solution that provides a path for free and fair elections.

Murder of Jovenel Moïse, the PM involved ?

Joseph Félix Badio had requested the help of Prime Minister Ariel Henry to leave the country, said Rudolph Jaar aka "Dodof" in an interview with the "New York Times". According to the American newspaper, citing Haitian authorities, the latter, who is considered to be the mastermind of the attack which led to the assassination of Jovenel Moïse, visited the Prime Minister.

In reaction, Monday Claude Joseph, Former Prime Minister, Former Minister of Foreign Affairs and Worship declared "Ariel Henry's involvement in the assassination of President Jovenel Moïse is becoming increasingly clear. He must make himself available to the justice in order to facilitate the continuation of the investigation into the magnicide of July 7, 2021. The country wants an explanation."

Release of the Edwige Bince couple

After the payment of a ransom, the amount of which was not disclosed, the kidnapped Edwige Bince couple was released on the evening of Sunday, January 9, 2022. The couple had been kidnapped on December 31, 2021, in the vicinity of the he Saint-François de Sales hospital in downtown Port-au-Prince.

The police are not idle in Artibonite

The Artibonite police presented on Monday the results of the operations carried out over the past weekend in "La Croix Périsse", in the town of Estère, which reports 5 individuals arrested and 2 firearms seized. Solino Clairvoyant and Alfred Jean are among those arrested, they are suspected of being part of the gang called "Kokorat san ras".
