Haiti - Agriculture : $150 million aid from USAID

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) will finance up to 150 million dollars of projects to strengthen agriculture, livestock breeding, including food security and emergency aid programs

Projects in brief :

Food security (38 million)

$38 million for emergency food security programs in the year 2022

Food resilience : (50 million)

5-year project (2021-2026), "Resilience Food Security Activity" (RFSA) targeting the North East and the South, which will give priority to women and young people

Increased livestock productivity : (20 million)

This year USAID will launch a $20 million project focused on increasing livestock productivity.

Improving agricultural markets : (30 million)

$30 million over five years (2021-2026) to improve agricultural markets. The "Haiti Resilience and Agriculture Sector Advancement" (HRASA) project targets more than 25,000 beneficiary Haitian farmers, particularly women and young people.

Support for agricultural extension and research : (12 million)

$12 million over 5 years to help five agricultural universities complete their research programs, provide essential services to farmers, modernize curricula and strengthen the nation's next cadre of agricultural leaders.
