Haiti - FLASH : Minimum wages the Government readjusts upwards, final version (Official)

Sunday, February 20, 2022, the Council of Ministers met to set the minimum wage for the different segments of activities based on the proposals made by the Superior Council of Salaries (CSS) https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-35994-haiti-flash-new-minimum-wages-proposed-by-the-superior-council-of-wages.html and decided on the salary increases proposed by the CSS.

The decree setting the minimum wage was sent to the Official Journal "Le Moniteur" for publication.

As of Monday, February 21, 2022, minimum wages will be :

Segment A+ 54% : 770 Gourdes (500 Gdes in 2019) adjustment in the Council of Ministers + 18.46%:

Proposed minimum wage of 770 Gourdes per 8-hour day of work in : private electricity production; financial institutions (banks, transfer houses, insurance companies); telecommunications; import-export trade; supermarkets; jewelry stores; art galleries; furniture, furniture and appliance stores; the doctor's office, the polyclinics, the 4 hibiscus hotels.

Segment B + 39.7% : 615 Gourdes (440 Gdes in 2019), adjustment in the Council of Ministers + 11.8% :

Proposed minimum wage: 615 Gourdes per 8-hour day of work in the sectors: buildings and public works (BTP); truck and heavy machinery rental companies; construction material rental companies; construction material transport companies; hardware stores; other financial institutions (cooperatives, credit unions… 3 hibiscus hotel, manufacturing industries geared towards the local market [...]

Segment C +40.2% : 540 Gourdes (385 Gdes in 2019), adjustment in the Council of Ministers +8% :

Proposed minimum wage: 540 Gourdes per 8-hour day in: Restaurants; agriculture, forestry, livestock and fishing; agricultural products processing industry; retail trade, except supermarkets, jewellers, cosmetics and clothing stores [...]

Segment E +40% : 350 Gourdes (250 Gdes in 2019), adjustment in the Council of Ministers +7.69% :

Proposed minimum wage: 350 Gourdes for 8 hours of work as: home service staff (housekeepers).

Segment F +37%: 685 Gourdes (500 Gourdes in 2019), adjustment in the Council of Ministers +9.6% :

Proposed minimum wage: 685 Gourdes per 8-hour day of work in export-oriented assembly industries and other export-oriented manufacturing industries.

Segment G +39.7%: 615 Gourdes (440 Gdes in 2019), adjustment in the Council of Ministers +11.8% :

Proposed minimum wage: 615 Gourdes per 8-hour day of work in private security agencies and petroleum product distribution companies.

Segment H +39.7% 615 Gourdes (440 Gdes in 2019), adjustment in the Council of Ministers +11.8% :

Proposed minimum wage: 615 Gourdes per 8-hour day of work in private vocational schools and private health institutions employing more than 10 people and offering hospitalization services.
