Haiti - Football : Second Victory for Haiti

After a crushing victory, 6-0, last friday against the U.S. Virgin Islands team, the men's national football team, the Grenadiers, last night has confronted the team of Curacao at the stadium Ergilio Hato to Willemstad, Curaçao, as part of the qualifiers for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil in the CONCACAF zone.

To the 12' Orin DE WAARD opens the game with a first goal in the Haitian net, score equalized to the 37' by defender Kevin LAFRANCE, to the 43' the opposing team takes the advantage with a shot of Angelo ZIMMERMAN, to the 58' the midfielder James MARCELIN shot and goooalllll !! creating once again the equality, followed 3 minutes later of a third goal of the Grenadier, Wilde Donald GUERRIER, followed by a shot against his own goal from Angelo ZIMMERMAN, bringing the score to 2-4 in favor of Haiti.

The national team led by Brazilian coach Edson Tavares, is now second in Group F (+8 / 6pts), preceded by Antigua and Barbuda (+10 / 6pts).

On October 7 the Grenadiers will face again the U.S. Virgin Islands, and on October 11, at home, they will face Curaçao, before leaving the country to face Antigua and Barbuda on November 11, on 15 November will take place the last game of the second round, Haiti will play at home with Antigua and Barbuda.

Group F is composed of Haiti, Antigua and Barbuda, Curacao, U.S. Virgin Islands. The winning team from each group will have access the third round, if Haiti is the winner of Group F, the Grenadiers will face the United States, Jamaica and the winner of Group E which can be either Grenada, Guatemala, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines or the Belize.
