Thursday, December 22, 2022 the 1,500 girls of the Lycée du Cent-cinquantenaire, better known as the "Lycée des Jeunes Filles" celebrated the 79th anniversary of the founding of this public school.

"This is the most beautiful school party I have taken part in this year. Pupils, teachers, pedagogical managers, logistical staff, in short, everyone got their hands dirty in order to hold this activity, in such a short time," declared Nesmy Manigat the Minister of National Education who warmly thank all those who worked for the success of this celebration of the most beautiful school fraternity.

For this third visit to the school this year, the Minister Manigat said he knew the ultimate wish of the students and teachers : it is about the reconstruction of the school buildings and he is committed to fighting to complete the work betting that the 80th anniversary of the Lycée will be celebrated in brand new premises.

The conference delivered by the Minister focused on entrepreneurship and career guidance. The 90 minutes of discussions with these young girls passed in an atmosphere marked by attentive listening, relevant questions on the practice of trades, the disappearance of certain trades, the appearance of new trades mainly driven by digital technology.

"You have to believe in your dreams, work to make your dreams come true", launched Manigat for these young girls, whom he encouraged to leave the traditional pattern of "label" professions to open their eyes to all the opportunities to learn trades that will allow them to earn a living more quickly and with dignity.
